News 24 hour

Disney has officially found the stars for its highly anticipated live-action remake of *Tangled*. After an extensive casting search, **Teagan Croft** and **Milo Manheim** have been selected to play the iconic lead roles of **Rapunzel** and **Flynn Rider.

The project, being developed by **Walt Disney Pictures**, reimagines the beloved 2010 animated film that introduced audiences to a free-spirited princess with magical golden hair and the charming thief who helps her discover the world beyond her tower.

A Long Casting Journey Comes to an End

Croft, a rising Australian actress, will portray Rapunzel—an adventurous and warm-hearted young woman dreaming of life outside confinement. Manheim, widely known for his performances in Disney Channel’s *Zombies* franchise, takes on the role of Flynn Rider, the confident outlaw whose path unexpectedly crosses Rapunzel’s.

Disney reportedly conducted an international casting search, including screen tests in London in December, before finalizing the leads. The careful process reflects the studio’s desire to honor the legacy of the original film, now considered a modern Disney classic.

 Creative Team Behind the Film

The live-action *Tangled* will be directed by **Michael Gracey**, whose previous work includes *The Greatest Showman* and *Better Man*. Staying true to its animated roots, the film will feature major musical components.

**Kristin Burr**, a longtime Disney collaborator known for producing *Cruella* and *Freakier Friday*, is producing the film. The screenplay was written by **Jennifer Kaytin Robinson**, whose credits include *Do Revenge* and *Thor: Love and Thunder*. **Lucy Kitada** joins the project as an executive producer.

Big Roles, Bigger Expectations

Originally voiced by **Mandy Moore** and **Zachary Levi**, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider are characters deeply loved by fans worldwide. The original *Tangled* earned over **$590 million globally** and later inspired a successful Disney Channel series.

Landing a Disney live-action lead can be career-changing. Such films often perform strongly at the global box office, but they also bring intense public attention—especially when reintroducing characters that audiences grew up with.

What’s Next for the Cast

The casting of the film’s main villain, **Mother Gothel**, has not yet been announced. The role was previously rumored to be linked to **Scarlett Johansson**, though no official confirmation followed.

Teagan Croft is best known for her role as **Raven** in DC’s *Titans*, which aired from 2018 to 2023. She also starred in Netflix’s *True Spirit*, playing real-life sailor **Jessica Watson**.

Milo Manheim, the son of actress **Camryn Manheim**, gained popularity through multiple *Zombies* films and demonstrated his stage talent in *Little Shop of Horrors*. He has also appeared in the Paramount+ series *School Spirits*.

With its leads now confirmed, Disney’s live-action *Tangled* moves one step closer to bringing Rapunzel’s story to a new generation.
